A string wound yarn filter cartridge is a depth-type filtration element made by tightly winding a continuous strand of yarn (usually polypropylene, cotton, or glass fiber) around a central core. This construction creates a graded density structure, with outer layers capturing larger particles and inner layers trapping finer particles.
Graded density design → higher dirt-holding capacity
Broad chemical compatibility (depending on yarn and core materials)
Low cost and easy to install/replace
High dirt holding capacity with low pressure drop
Thermal resistance (especially with glass fiber or SS core)
RO pre-filtration
Potable water and beverage filtration
Chemical and solvent filtration
Cooling tower water
Oil & gas and petrochemical processing
